DEBOX explores how changing a vehicle’s external geometry could affect visual detection, recognition and tracking.
Irregular structures alter the silhouette and recognisable features of the vehicle. The geometry could be combined with camouflage paint, materials and existing coverings.
A concept under investigation. Effectiveness and physical practicality remain subjects for testing.
Explore changes to the outline and characteristic features of a vehicle.
Configure palettes in relation to the surrounding environment and season.
View configurations across woodland, settlements and changing visual conditions.
A dedicated 3D application brings vehicle configuration, procedural environments and observation effects into one place.
01 / 03Configure irregular external structures across the hull, turret and barrel.
Adjust coverage, asymmetry and colour. Explore different configurations from multiple viewing angles.
Woodland, villages, towns, residential estates and industrial settings, with adjustable vegetation, destruction and rubble.
Explore atmospheric effects and simulated camera and transmission degradation, including delayed or interrupted images.
The application supports development and visualisation. It does not by itself establish real-world camouflage effectiveness.
The concept is currently explored through a working 3D application. The next step is to bring it into physical testing.
Develop geometry variants and explore vehicles in different surroundings and visual conditions.
Assess materials, mounting, mass, handling and compatibility with vehicle functions.
Structured comparisons to assess effects on detection, recognition and tracking.
We welcome collaboration on prototype development, camouflage integration and computer vision evaluation.
